What's Available

The library offers students access to:

Windows PCs 

  • Software: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Kurzweil Screen Reader

Windows Design Stations

  • Software: Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Fusion 360, AutoCAD 2017, Microsoft Visual Studio

iMac Design Stations

  • Software: Final Cut Pro, Autodesk Fusion 360, Maya 2017

WiFi Access

  • WiFi access is available throughout the library

INK Smart Station (print/copy/scan, fax)

  • print your documents in black/white or color; single or duplex.
  • print your 4x6 photos with our INK Photo Printer
  • print from library computers, USB, InkDrive account, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Box, Instagram, or Facebook 
  • Copy, scan, or fax your documents

KIC Scanning Station

  • High-speed scanning station
  • edit and crop scanned documents and images
  • send via email, save to USB, or use the SmartDock to send directly to your tablet/smartphone

Makerbot 5th Generation (FDM) 3D Printer

  • Models are printed using Polylactic Acid (PLA) bioplastic

Form 2 Desktop (SLA) 3D Printer

  • High-resolution 3D Printing using liquid resin

Database Access Help

Having trouble accessing a database? Try the following:

  • you must be a current UHMC student, faculty or staff to access UHMC Library resources off campus
  • call the library circulation desk to check your account status and campus affiliation:  984-3715
  • make sure you are entering your UH username and password correctly (it is case sensitive)
  • always access databases and Voyager directly from the UHMC Library website or research guide links
  • bookmarked links or shortcuts will not work off campus
  • fines/fees of over $10 will block your access.  Check your account here.
  • reboot your computer—do a cold reboot, by actually turning off your computer
  • security software could be blocking the website, lower your security level
  • add the domain to your browser's trusted sites
  • try a different browser, for example, if you are using Internet Explorer, try Firefox
  • you must have enabled: cookies, Javascript 
  • ask a Librarian for help
