The word research comes from the French word rechercher which means “to seek.”

Research is a systematic, organized process involving acquiring, interpreting, and assimilating information. Whether you’re a veteran researcher or a first-timer, all research involves a cycle of stages.

Research can begin at any stage and may pass through many (even all) stages more than once. There is an emotional component associated with each stage as well.
