What's Available in the Library

The library offers students access to:

  • Computers
    • Windows PCs with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Kurzweil screen reader and writing software.
    • Windows graphic design stations with Adobe Photoshop
    • iMac design station with Final Cut Pro
  • Black/white & color printing
  • GoPro Hero5 Cameras & Accessories (mounts & harnesses) 3 day loan.
  • Flat-bed Scanner
  • Chromebook laptops to borrow for in-library use
  • 3D printer 
  • Laptop tables with power strips for charging mobile devices 
  • UH wireless and wireless printing* is fully accessible throughout the library.

Printing from a library workstation

Students can print from any computer in the library.

Only single-sided printing on 8.5″ x 11″ (letter size) library paper is allowed. No double-sided printing, no legal paper size, no transparencies, no user-supplied paper.

You must have a UHMC ID Card or a Pharos Print Card to print from computers in the library. Pharos Print Cards are available for purchase at The Learning Center (TLC) for $1.00.

Black and white printing costs $0.10 per page; color printing costs $1.00 per page. You will need to add money using the Add Value station. The Add Value machine does not take coins.


Wireless Printing 

Send your print jobs directly to the library printer from your cell phone, tablet, laptop, or other mobile device:

Log on to the My Print Center, upload your document(s), then swipe your student ID card in the print release station to release your document(s).

Chromebook laptops

Chromebooks are available for checkout!

Chromebooks are lightweight devices with wi-fi access that can be taken anywhere in the library building. They can be used to check your email, work on assignments, access the library catalog, watch YouTube videos, or anything else you would normally do on a web browser.

3D printing 

The UHMC Library offers access to new technologies such as 3D printers to help the UHMC students to bring creations to life. The Maui College Library’s 3D printer is available to Maui College students, faculty and staff to make three ­dimensional objects in plastic using a design that is uploaded from a digital computer file.
