Borrowing FAQ

Almost all materials are available on open shelves for self-retrieval. Selected materials are kept in protective storage and are available by request. Electronic resources and databases have licensing agreements that may restrict usage by particular campus license.

Your UH ID is your library card. Students, faculty, and staff can borrow items with their UH ID card at the desk under the Kāinoa Puke sign.

Community members are able to borrow books from the library with the purchase of a Community Library Card. For more information about Community Library Cards, please contact our library staff at (808) 984-3715.

Retired faculty or staff who worked for 10 or more years for the college, and who have a signed letter from their department head confirming 10 years of employment, may ask for a community borrower card for free. Please contact the contact our library staff at (808) 984-3715 for more information. Emeritus faculty members are entitled to lifetime library privileges.
